Awakening occurs instantaneously, often when you least expect it.
You may be looking for clarity and understanding, freshness or a salve to your personal suffering when an abrupt halt to your conditioned perspective changes everything you had been taught to believe.
That is the thing about all data, it never changes, what changes is the lens through which you view yourself and life.
For quite sometime I have had an increasing resistance to mainstream western Tropical Astrology, so I created my own style of interpreting an individual's natal chart and yet even though I intuitively wove my personal insights into their reading I was never quite satisfied with the overall vibe. I had even begun developing a whole new way of looking at natal details based on outer planets, and degrees and angles within a chart yet something still felt untrue to me as I was using the Tropical Astrology system to calculate data. Fortunately when the inner wisdom of my heart speaks I listen and I opened to not knowing.
As deeply questioned what the majority of western astrologers practised and taught I was eventually led to Bernadette Brady's work. In her book 'Brady's Book Of Fixed Stars' she explains how astrology became separated from astronomy and how it was manipulated through the ages in the western world leading to the creation of Tropical Astrology which is based on a fixed point of view from around 2,000 years ago. I then found out about 13 sign True Sidereal Astrology which uses the actual constellations and planet's positions in the sky at one's birth. I wasn't that surprised this made so much sense to me as through this lens of astrology my Sun and other aspects are in the constellation of Ophiuchus; an intriguing aspect of our collective psyche which has been hidden by the Tropical Astrology system. I resonate with and am inspired by this organic starlight lens and now have a completely refreshed and expanded astrological perspective.
Ophiuchus is wonderfully yin, deeply mysterious and disruptive and just like a serpent moving through one's reality; beautiful, memerising and awakening. The moment a serpent appears in your reality your attention is summoned to be very present as your natural instinct is to attune to your organic environment with alot more focus and breath. Ophiucus awakens the dreamers from the dream and brings them to real life.
Through working with 13 sign True Sidereal Astrology I became aware that mainstream Human Design and Gene Keys charts are also based on the Tropical Astrology system. When I found Cosmic Human Design I came across a small but growing community that has developed software that uses 13 sign True Sidereal Astrology to calculate Human Design and Gene Keys charts. This changes so much in every chart reading and if you are familiar with your Human Design or Gene Keys charts this new light offers an amazing personal rebirth and sophisticated refinement to the nature of this deeply complex and contemplative work.
The other aspect I have uncovered is that astrology readings do not generally reflect the different perspectives of the actual sky viewed from the Southern Hemisphere to the Northern Hemisphere, this especially effects the Nodes of the Moon which I feel need to be switched around to reflect the actual sky in this region of the world. As I reside in the Southern Hemisphere I have always found astrology readings focused on the Northern Hemisphere seasons to be out of sync with my real, organic day and night experiences. I believe that to align with the energy of the moon it is really beneficial that you work with the 'organic' moon, as it presents in the actual sky to where you reside.
